Cleaning of Archive Objects

Conservation and preserving archive materials begins with checking and assessing the storage location, the storage method and the arrangement of the object or an entire collection.

In case of contamination with microorganisms, suitable pest control measures can be developed for the object or the collection. In order to do this, samples are collected and the contamination is identified.

After successful cleaning and disinfection, this procedure is then recorded in a report including a photographic documentation.

Should the object in question have endured continued exposure to detrimental elements, we are happy to provide you with restoration services.

Our studio has a dedicated room where contaminated books and objects from libraries and archives can be disinfected. Extensive cleaning can also be carried out on site if the appropriate spaces and facilities are available.
